John 12:25-26
The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
I think this is saying, if I work hard to make and keep things in this life, I will lose it, because that is not permanent. The only permanent thing, the only everlasting thing is Him. If I love him, then what is in this world, doesn't matter because we KNOW it will go away and we have a future with him. I'm pretty sure I feel that way. Most of the time, the stuff I have, I don't care about because I KNOW it doesn't matter.
